The Levelland Chamber of Commerce and Ambassadors welcomed Gene and Katie Allen and the staff of Krestridge Funeral Home to Levelland Friday with a ribbon cutting.
Following the ribbon cutting the public was invited inside to the chapel for the official chapel dedication. Owner and Operator Gene Allen spoke during the dedication and thanked the 100 plus members of the community who were present to welcome the new business to town. He said this dream started many years ago as he has always had the desire to come back to his hometown and to give back to this community. He said “Today, that dream comes true.”
Mayor Barbra Pinner gave the official welcome to the community thanking the family for their investment in this community and bringing the new jobs to town. A representative of the Texas Funeral Service Commission was also present to congratulate Allen on his 3rd funeral home he said “I assure this community, this funeral home will be first class.”
The new funeral home has been under construction for the past 9 months with FEHRS Construction being the general contractor.
Allen currently operates 2 additional funeral homes, 1 in Kerrville and 1 in Junction. Allen started his career with a Funeral Home in Levelland before continuing his career in the Dallas area and purchasing the Kerrville Funeral Home in 2001 and the Kimble Funeral Home in Junction in 2010 and Krestridge Funeral Home in 2016. He formally served on the Levelland City Council and the Levelland Planning and Zoning Commission.
