City of Littlefield Receives Grant for Storm Sirens

letstalkLittlefield Mayor Eric Turpen has announced that the City of Littlefield will be installing storm sirens before next storm season.

He said the city applied for a USDA Federal grant which they received approval on this month.  He says the grant will match the cost of the sirens by 45% and the city will cover the remaining cost.  The city will install five storm sirens throughout the city.

He says as of now they use the CodeRED emergency notification system and they will continue to use that as an additional source of warning once the sirens are installed.

The city hopes to have the sirens installed by March of next year.
