Levelland Fire Department was called to a structure fire this morning at approximately 5:30am. A structure located at 1603 Houston in Levelland just west of West Ave. suffered heavy damage in the blaze.
Levelland Fire fighters fought the blaze for over 2 hours. We are told by a spokesman for the fire department that they cleared the scene at just before 8am. One fire truck remained on the scene and the Levelland Fire Marshalls Office began investigating the cause of the fire at just after 8am.
No injuries were reported. Xcel Energy and Atmos Energy were both called to the scene to disconnect electricity and gas to the home as is common practice in a structure fire.
