Levelland Police Department Officers were called to a 2 vehicle traffic accident which occurred in the 700 block of College Ave. on Wednesday evening at just after 8:30pm.
According to the report filed by Levelland Police a 2007 Chevrolet Silvorado pickup was traveling southbound on College Ave when he veered into the northbound lane and crashed into a 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup. The report indicates a tire came off of the Dodge pickup and rolled down a side street hitting a parked vehicle which was parked in the driveway. The Chevrolet Pickup was driven by Mixon Ray Palmer of Levelland, he suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. The driver of the dodge pickup Eristeo Vidales was transported to Covenant Hospital by Levelland EMS with minor injuries.
The police report indicates that Palmer stated to officers at the scene that he blacked out and veered into the northbound lane. He was ticketed for driving on the wrong side of the road. Failure to control speed was also listed as a factor in the accident.
