Hockley County Sheriff’s Office Equipped with H2S Monitors

Hockley County Sheriff’s deputies are now equipped with Hydrogen Sulfide gas monitors.

Capt. Nolan Seaton said Occidental Petroleum was able to equip all 7 deputies with a monitor.  Deputies have been instructed to always wear the monitor anytime they are out of the vehicle in an area where hydrogen sulfide gas could be present.

Occidental Petroleum paid for the monitors and 2 years of checks on the monitors.  Each monitor will have to be re-calibrated every month.
