For the 6th Consecutive year the Hockley County Jail has passed its annual inspection. The jail was recently inspected by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
Jail Administrator Capt. Clifford Robinson said he was “pleased with the inspection, noting this was his 6th passing inspection, going on to thank his team of jailers. Sheriff RC Cheek is also quick to praise his jail administration and staff.
The Hockley County Jail has a capacity of 64 inmates, including 54 in housing and four in holding/detox/or violent. There were 54 inmates in the jail while the inspection was conducted. The daily average census in the jail is 50.
Three minor deficiencies were noted in the recent inspection and all three have been addressed.
