Texas Water Development Board Approves Funding for Opdyke West

The Texas Water Development Board approved a $200,000 loan forgiveness from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the community of Opdyke West in Hockley County yesterday.

The community will use the funding to finance the planning, design and construction costs associated with the installation of a filtration system at its water treatment plant.

The Water Development Board is the agency charged with collecting and distributing water related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan.  They administer financial programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
