Xcel Energy Hopes to Wrap Up Restoration Effort Today

The latest report from Xcel Energy shows they may be able to wrap up their restoration efforts today.

Xcel Energy has reduced the number of customers without power in Clovis, N.M., to one customer, and that order has been dispatched and should be completed today. With an aerial patrol of the line near Farwell, Texas, to the east of Clovis, we discovered nine downed poles. We will be able to reroute power around these downed poles and restore 49 customers shortly. Another four rural customers in the area have issues with their individual service connections, but we should be able to address these issues this afternoon as well.

Across the Texas-New Mexico service area, our total number without power is 277. We’ve seen a small increase in orders that are not related to the original storm. We also expect to have these customers restored today.
