City of Levelland Water Customers Being Notified of Monitoring Violation

The City of Levelland Water Customers are being notified of the cities failure to collect the required number of bacteriological samples for coliform monitoring of the water system during August 2015.  The monitoring is required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s “Drinking Water Standards” and the federal “Safe Drinking Water Act.”

City of Levelland Administration wants to assure residents that Levelland’s water is safe.  They also report that all samples were properly collected and tested and were clear of bacteria; the violation was due to a reporting error.  The Levelland Water Department has improved its reporting procedures to reduce the likelihood of such administrative errors in the future.
