In the public comment section of the meeting–Manuel Mendez addressed the board concerning food service in the school system.  He said he has always been an advocate for kids.  He said he has been traveling with the band as an adult sponsor and he said that on out of town trips the students are given $7 each for a meal.  He would like to request more saying you cannot get a satisfactory meal for $7.  The board president asked the finance director to look in different options for the board to consider at the next regular meeting.

The board also reviewed the Financial Integrity Rating System for Levelland ISD from the State.  The district received a passing score.  The rating is only a pass or fail rating from the state.

The board also approved monthly financial reports.

They also received a bond status financial report.  $26.9 million was spent thus far with $12.9 million remaining.

The board approved casting their votes equally between F E Shaheen and Paul Ochoa for the Hockley County Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The board also heard a bond project update.  Everything is moving along on schedule.  Windows will be installed in late December or Early January.  Work on the east side of the parking lot at the high school.  Work on the Math and English wings are complete.

The board made the decision to cancel the regular board meeting for December unless an action item comes up that needs immediate action.
