Texas Tech Police Investigate Kidnapping and Robbery

The Texas Tech Police Department is looking for help in locating a suspect from a Kidnapping and Robbery that occurred on campus this morning around 3:25am.

According to police reports a male student reported being approached by two male subjects who displayed a firearm and forced him into his own vehicle.  The suspects forced the victim to drive around Lubbock for approximately and hour and a half.  They reportedly stole his wallet and cell phone.  They also made him withdraw money from his ATM and look for another car to steal.  They then forced the victim to take them back to Sneed Hall on the Texas Tech Campus with the idea of robbing another student.  The victim warned the other student and after a brief struggle the suspects fled the campus.

Suspect #1 is described as a tall black male last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Suspect #2 is described as a black male standing approximately 5’6″ tall last seen wearing a red sweatshirt with an Air Jordan logo and Bright Pink shoes.

The Texas Tech Police Department and Lubbock Police Department continue to investigate and anyone with information is asked to call the Texas Tech Police Department at 742-3931 or the Lubbock Police Department at 775-2865.  You may also call crime line at 741-1000.

The Texas Tech Police Department asks all students to remain vigilent and if you every feel threatened in any manner call 911 or utilize the blue emergency phones located at various locations around the campus.
