The Levelland Police Department in connection with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission conducted Compliance Checks Wednesday in Levelland.
During the check, undercover officers entered the business and observed a minor (under age 21) attempting to purchase alcohol. A total of 9 businesses was checked in Levelland and all performed very well.
According to a report from the Levelland Police Department all employees in each of the 9 businesses followed all of the TABC rules and requested to see an ID from the minor and then refused the sell after determining they were under 21. With alcohol sales being new to Levelland the Police Department is glad that merchants are being vigilant in their efforts. They also warn other stings are planned in the near future.
