Levelland Police Respond to Second Armed Robbery In 2 Days

The Levelland Police Department responded to a second and third armed robbery yesterday.  It is believed that the suspects could possibly be the same ones which committed an armed robbery over the weekend.

Monday night officers were called to the Wal-Mart on East Highway 114 where 2 suspects attempted to commit an armed robbery.  Sgt. Ty Land with the Levelland Police Department was the first to arrive on the scene and was able to apprehend the suspect when he attempted to flee the scene and while he was attempting to destroy  evidence.  He was charged with Aggrevated Robbery, Evading Arrest and Tampering with Evidence.

While officers were on the scene at Wal-Mart they received a call of an armed robbery at the Dollar General on College Ave.  The report indicates a male and female subject was holding 2 clerks at knife point.  The two suspects got away with all the money in the safe and the register.  It is believed that the 2 subjects in the Dollar General robbery are the same 2 that robbed the Rue 21 store on Saturday and possibly are responsible for several robberies in Lubbock.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Levelland Police Department at 894-6164 or contact CrimeLine at 894-5500.  A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest and/or conviction of the person or persons responsible.  Callers may remain anonymous.
