Positively News–Wednesday, 7/29/2015

Positively News brought to you by Lily Bugs at 912 Houston Street in downtown Levelland.

Ruth Ramseur of Brownfield has seen her share of birthday candles.  You see, she celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday.  The Brownfield woman said she notices a family knack for longevity.  Her mother lived to be 104.  Her older sister is 101 and her younger sister is 91.  Ramseur says she is in fairly good health.

Ramseur doesn’t pursue any special paths toward her long lifespan; she just seemed to follow her mother and sister into the century club.  Ramseur, was a longtime teacher in Terry County, retiring in 1985.  She says that is the same year schools purchased their first computers.  She sometimes wishes she had stayed a few more years to learn new technology alongside her students.

She was born in Winters, TX near Abilene.
