Ropesville Police Chief Arrested on Felony Charges

The Hockley County District Attorney’s office arrested Ropesville Police Chief Ashley Ramirez Friday morning on 4 felony charges.

According to the District Attorney’s office he is charged with 3 counts of tampering with evidence, and one count of abuse of office.  More charges are pending according to the DA Chris Dennis.

Ramirez is accused of making an unauthorized transfer of firearms purchased or possessed by the City of Ropesville.  All of the firearms were potential evidence in a criminal investigation.
