Shawna Wagley, co-owner and licensed funeral director for Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield was honored Thursday evening by the Texas Funeral Directors Association. She was named the Young Professional Funeral Director of the Year for the West Texas Region.
She was presented the honor at a regional meeting of the association thanking her for her personal sacrifice in the preservation of a great organization.
This award comes on the heel of Levelland native Scott Rankin being honored last week in the panhandle region. Ranking was named Funeral Director of the Year by the Panhandle Funeral Directors Association. He has worked as a funeral director at several funeral homes in the panhandle region and currently is the director of the Mortuary Science Department at Amarillo College.
