Lamb County Soil & Water Conservation District to Award Scholarships

The Lamb County Soil and Water Conservation District is set to award three scholarships to 2015 graduating seniors. Applicants must be a graduating senior, currently attending public, private, or home school within Lamb County.

The students must have a “B” average or better, must be attending college or trade school after graduation, and must be able to prove enrollment in college or trade school before the scholarship can be awarded.

Students are asked to write a 500 word essay on “The Conservation Benefits of Wind energy to West Texas.” The first place essay will receive a $500 scholarship; second place will receive a $300 scholarship and the third place will receive a $100 scholarship. Forms can be picked up from the high school counselors in the county, or you may contact Kyla tolbert at 385-4044, Extension 3.

The deadline for essays to be submitted is April 29, 2015.
