Plane Catches Fire at the Levelland Airport

Levelland Fire Department crews battled a fire in a plane at the Levelland Airport this afternoon. According to the owner of the plane, Casey Timmons of Wolfforth, he was performing conditioning work on the plane inside the hanger at the Levelland Airport when the plane caught fire. He stated he pushed the plane outside the hanger and called the fire department. He said he had owned the plane for 5-6 years and was preparing to get the plane re-certified.

No one was injured in the blaze and damage was limited to the plane with little to no damage to airport property. Multiple firefighters and trucks from the Levelland Fire Department were called in to assist in putting out the fire.
