City of Levelland residents are being warned to be especially careful of a letter that is arriving in city mail boxes. The letter has the title “Levelland Water Service Line Responsibility” and asks recipients to consider optional coverage regarding the water line on their properties. The purposed insurance is available for as little as $4.99 per month and residents would supposedly receive coverage for “age related” line breaks. According to the City of Levelland Inspection office residents should disregard the letter.

If you have any questions you may contact the City Inspection office at 894-0113 and speak with Dina Gaona.

A local resident has also received a phone call advising them they had won $25 Million and all they had to do was send $500 to collect their winnings. The call came from the Seattle, WA area. Hockley County Sheriff R.C. Cheek was contacted and he advised that it was a scam and he urged residents to disregard such calls.
