Brownfield Athlete Faces 2 Felony Charges

A Brownfield Athlete was indicted on 2 felony charges.

Sha’Colby Hill, 18 was booked in the Gaines County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and deadly conduct. He was released a short time late on a $75,000 bond. He played in the playoff game Tuesday night for the Brownfield Cub basketball team.

Police say Hill, Kendrick Davis, Chris Davis and Dominic Fisher were involved in a fight at a party in Seagraves in late July. The Brownfield men left the party for their vehicle, and returned with guns. Shots were fired according to reports and one man was injured. All 4 men were arrested in Brownfield later that same day. They were indicted on the Brownfield charges in December by a Terry County Grand Jury on the Felony Charges of Theft of a Firearm.

Hill returned to Brownfield High School in December. Brownfield ISD said Hill’s eligibility for classes and extracurricular activities remains active.

A UIL Media Coordinator would not comment on the case specifically but said “schools enforce UIL rules at the local level and that this is a law enforcement matter.” They went on to say if a student is in regular classes and meets other eligibility standards, then the UIL will generally not intervene.
