Property Taxes Due by February 2 To Avoid Penalty

The deadline is looming for paying your property taxes to avoid a penalty. The County Tax Assessor-Collector reminds property owners, if you are paying by mail, the payment must be postmarked by January 31 to avoid the penalty.

If you are paying in person, you may pay in the County tax office on the first floor of the courthouse no later than Monday, February 2 to avoid the penalty.

Approximately 52% of Hockley County taxpayers have paid their property taxes thus far.

If you did not receive your tax statement or you have misplaced it you may contact the tax office during normal business hours from 9am to 5pm or call them at 894-4938.
