Funeral Services for Rene’ Heard, 69 of Levelland will be held on Friday at 1pm. The full obituary is below..

Rene’ Echlon Smith Heard passed from this life Saturday, December 27, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. Services for Rene’ will be held at 1PM Friday, January 2, 2015 in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland, Texas. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 4-6PM. Rene’ was born to Jesse LeRoy and Janie Yvonne Smith in Ranger, Texas on May 23, 1945. She married Barry Lee Heard on August 2, 1962 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Rene’ retired from South Plains College in 2007 after 22 years of service. She was an active member of the Marigolds, the Levelland Chamber of Commerce where she served on numerous committees, as well as the sorority Xi Theta Pi. She was very involved each year in the annual Christmas on the Square program. Rene’ is survived by her husband, Barry Lee Heard; son, Barry Don (Jerri) Heard of Sanger, Texas; daughter, Susan (Chad) Pendergrass of Whitharral, Texas; grandchildren, Jake Cage of Sanger, Texas, Logyn Heard of Sanger, Texas, Ryan Pendergrass of Whitharral, Texas and Brooke Pendergrass of Whitharral, Texas; siblings Stan (Marianne) Smith of Abi-lene, Texas and Mike (Jackie) Smith of Stanton, Texas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marigolds Scholarship Fund at South Plains College.

Services for Margie Leona Humphreys Morgan will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the 5th Street Church of Christ in Levelland, Texas. Margie was born April 11, 1925 in Lubbock County to Virgil James Humphreys and Cora Anvaline Williams Humphreys and passed into the arms of the Lord on December 29, 2014. Margie was married to James Henry Morgan on May 23, 1942. On April 11, 1950, Margie obeyed the gospel and remained a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Bessie, her husband of 56 years, James, an infant daughter, Sonya Janice, and an infant great-grandson, James. Margie is survived by her three children and their spouses, Barbara (Howard David) Isaacks, Jimmie (Sylvia) Morgan, and Mike (Jane) Morgan; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Glenn Reed “Corky” Price at 2pm Thursday, January 1 in the George Price Funeral Home. The full obituary is below….

Glenn Reed “Corky” Price went to meet the Lord, on December 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred Jimison Price; three children, Glenda Renfro of Crane, Ron Price of Canyon, and Lynette Campbell of Levelland; two brothers, Bill of Levelland, and Jerry of Seguin; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grands; and one great great grandbaby.

Glenn was born in Hockley County to Tom and Lora Price in 1927. He graduated from Ropesville High School in 1944 then married Mildred Jimison on June 15, 1945. Glenn served the US Army from December 5, 1945 until December 30, 1946. From there he and Mildred lived in Lubbock where he was employed by Meads Fine Bread. Glenn was a member of Ropesville First Baptist Church for over 60 years.

In 1955 Glenn and Mildred along with their children moved to Ropesville and began his career as a farmer which he maintained until his passing.

Glenn was loved by many friends and will be missed. He will be remembered as a dear person, a fellow farmer, and mostly for that sparkle in his eye.
