Country Showdown Held in Levelland–SPC Student Advances to State Competition

The 33rd Annual Country Showdown was held in Levelland last night. The competition featured 6 contestants in the local competition. The winner of the local competition will advance to the State Competition in Rockport later this month.

The winner of the Levelland competition was SPC Student, Bailey Wesberry. She is from Oklahoma and has been singing on stage for 11 years. She plays guitar and also enjoys writing music. She currently attends South Plains College as a Vocal major in the Commercial Arts Dept and also is an SPC Cheerleader.

The Runner-Up was Alyssa Piteo. She started singing professionally at the age 15 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico and has traveled all over New Mexico and Texas.

The peoples choice award went to Sarah Beasley. She has been singing since the age of 6 and writing songs since the age of 12. She grew up in California, but currently attends South Plains College as a music major.

The winner, Bailey Wesberry will represent Levelland in the State Competition in Rockport as part of the Rockport Seafair on Sunday, October 12. Tickets for the State Competition are $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for Children 6-12. Children 6 and under is free admission. A weekend pass will be available for $20 for Friday-Sunday.
