Levelland Police Make an Arrest Following a Pursuit into City Limits by DPS

An active weekend for Law Enforcement in Levelland. Levelland Police Chief Toney Cowan reported that LPD officers assisted DPS Troopers on Sunday who followed a suspect into town on suspicions of drunk driving and followed her to a residence in Levelland. Levelland officers then were on the scene to assist and report that the suspects daughter kept coming out of the house and interfering with arresting officers. She was arrested after being warned 3 times by officers. The report indicates she was taken to the Hockley County Jail and later attempted suicide in the visiting area of the jail. She was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock for treatment and remains in custody. Chief Cowan said that the Texas Rangers is working this investigation after she was transported to Lubbock.
