Funeral Services under the direction of George Price Funeral Directors of Levelland for Gladys Weldon Boedeker, 99 of Levelland is scheduled for Monday at 10:30am at the First United Methodist Church in Levelland. She passed away on Thursday. She taught school for over 20 years in Dumas, Ropesville and Levelland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a dedicated volunteer delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. She believed in service to others and exemplified that throughout her life. She lived 99 full years of life traveling through nearly all 50 states over the years, with an incredible strong will and immeasurable love for her family and close friends.
She grew up in Texline with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She attended West Texas State College where she met her husband E.W. “Bill” Boedeker. They were married on May 4, 1944 and moved to Hockley County in 1947.
She is survived by her two children, 1 Son, Don Boedeker and 1 Daughter, Iris Keeling, son-in-law George Keeling, granddaughter, Alycyn, many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Funeral Services under the direction of George Price Funeral Directors of Levelland for Joyce Forehand Cox will be held on Monday at 2pm at the Austin Street Church of Christ, in Levelland. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. She passed Away on Friday, after a long battle with cancer. In 1965, Joyce became a LVN after training at South Plains College. She worked at the Levelland Hospital as well as various nursing homes until she retired in 1999. Joyce is survived by her husband Dale, her son Wilton and wife Karen, 1 daughter Carolyn and husband, Steve Boles, her son Stan and wife, Susan. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Trenton Cox, Brandon Cox, Devon and Christy Cox, Triston and Andrew Frost, Taylor Hord, Barry and Heather Boles, Marshall and Kellyann Boles, Ashley Boles, and Sarah and Nick Lewis. She was the proud Great-Grandmother of 9, Zayden Cox, Lyric, Story, Cadence, and Coda Cox, Harper Frost, Gus and Charlie Boles, and Bennett Boles. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Jean Dunlap, and Mary and Jimmy Airhart, 2 brothers, Steve and Linds Forehand, and Art and Margie Forehand. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
