Heavy Rains the Past Several Days Causes Flooding in Levelland

Levelland ISD announced tonight that the recent rains has caused flooding of the North parking lot at the High School. The playa lake that helps with drainage of the parking lot is also full leaving no where for the water to drain to. Administration urged students driving to school on Tuesday to use caution and not to drive through the deeper areas in the parking lot and to park in an alternate location if necessary.

Levelland ISD also announced that due to the recent rains, buses will run on pavement only on Tuesday, both for morning and afternoon routes. The Capitol Field Day scheduled for tomorrow has also been canceled and will not be rescheduled according to principal Karl Race.

Motorists are also urged to seek an alternate route if your morning commute takes you on Ave H near Lobo Lake. Ave H has been closed at Lobo Lake as water is standing across the road.
