Some Taxing Entities in Hockley County will see an increase in property values according to information released by the Hockley County Appraisal District. The increase is not being seen in all of the taxing entities in Hockley County.
Both the City of Sundown and Sundown ISD will face lower property values this year according to preliminary figures recently released. Overall in Hockley County according to the information values will be up less than 1 percent.
June 19 is the last day for property owners to file a protest on the value of their properties. Property appraisals were mailed to property owners recently. Values will be certified in late July. The preliminary values for each entity are as follows.
Hockley County–Down .19% at $4.0 Billion
City of Levelland–Up 10% at $595,049
City of Anton–Down 6.2% at $15.8 Million
City of Ropesville–Up 5% at $9.5 Million
City of Sundown–Down 5.5% at $64.2 Million
Anton ISD–Down 2.9% at $44.2 Million
Levelland ISD–Up 4.3% at $1.9 Billion
Ropes ISD–Down 3.9% at $90.5 Million
Smyer ISD–Up 20% at $147 Million
Sundown ISD–Down 5.6% at $1.6 Billion
Whitharral ISD–Down 4.8% at $82.3 Million
South Plains College–Down .19% at $4 Billion
