Early Voting in the area school and city elections starts on Monday. Early Voting in Levelland for both the school and city election will be held at Levelland City Hall. Early Voting runs April 28-May 6 and election day is May 10. Early voting hours are from 7am to 7pm on April 28 and April 29 and 8am to 5pm April 30-May 6. In the City of Levelland Election–Incumbent Larry Davidson faces Manuel Mendez in District A and Billy Youngblood and Jose Rubalcava will be listed on the ballot for District C. Rubalcava will still be on the ballot although he has been declared in-eligible to serve and cannot be declared the winner regardless of the number of votes. Six candidates are running for three positions on the Levelland School board. Glenn Smith, an incumbent faces DeEtte Edens and Abel Rodriquez for 2 at-large seats and Missy Himango faces Tommie Vidales and Randall Coddington for the District 5 seat.
A special “local option” election on the sale of alcoholic beverages is being held in Sundown as well. Early voting will be conducted at Sundown City Hall from 7am to 7pm on April 28 and May 5 and 8am to 5pm April 29-May 4 and May 6. Election day will be May 10 for that election as well and polls will be open 7am to 7pm and Sundown City Hall.
This reminder in all elections you will need a state approved photo ID. The acceptable forms are State Issued Drivers License, State Issued ID Card, State Issued Concealed Handgun License, Military Photo ID, US Passport, or a state issued Election ID Certificate which may be obtained at your local Drivers License office.
