With the Christmas rush comes deadlines for shipping so that your holiday packages and letters arrive on time at their destination.
The United States Postal Service has released the holiday shipping calendar.
December 14–Last day to ship Standard Mail
December 20–Last day to ship First Class Mail
December 21–Last day to ship Priority Mail
December 23–Last day to ship Priority Express Mail
Military Mail: The date for Standard Post service has passed. Ship by December 3 for Parcel Air Lift Mail. All mail going to an APO/FPO/DPO AE Zip 093 must be shipped by December 3. First Class and Priority Mail going to all other military addresses must be shipped by Dec. 10. Priority Mail Express Military Service is available until December 17 for selected military/diplomatic post offices. Check with your local post office to find out if this service is available to an APO/FPO/DPO address.
International Mail: Deadlines range from December 2 (First Class & Priority Mail to Central & South America or Africa) through December 19 for Global Express Guaranteed Service to Canada. For a full list or International dates visit the website. The cut off dates listed by the Post Office do not take into account time needed for customs clearance and if you’re shipping outside of major foreign cities, be sure to allow extra transit time.
UPS has also announced their holiday shipping schedule.
December 16 is expected to be their busiest pick up day with more than 34 million packages expected to be shipped out that day.
December 17 is expected to be the busiest delivery day with more than 29 million packages delivered.
December 21 is the last day to ship UPS 2nd Day Air packages for December 24 Delivery.
December 23 is the Last day to ship UPS Next Day Air for December 24 delivery.

December 13–Last day to ship FedEx International Ground for shipments to Canada and Mexico
December 17–Last day to ship FedEx Home Delivery and FedEx Ground packages for December 24 arrival.
December 18–Last day to ship FedEX International Economy
December 19–Last day to ship Federal Express Saver
December 20–Last day to ship FedEX International Priority, First or Next Flight for shipments to Puerto Rico
December 20–Last day to ship International Economy
December 21–Last day to ship Fedex 2 day and 2 day AM
December 21–Last day to ship International Priority
December 23–Last day to ship FedEx Standard, Priority or First Overnight Service
December 23–Last day to ship International Next Flight
For online shopping, Shipping Deadlines vary depending on the retailer, but in general, when you’re shopping online, you may have to place your order as early as December 10 or as late as December 23 for Delivery by Christmas. This year, Free Shipping Day–a day designated for free shipping with guaranteed arrival by Christmas Eve and no purchase minimums is December 18. Approximately 450 retailers are participating so far.
