The Levelland Chamber of Commerce held their annual recognition luncheon Friday afternoon at the Mallet Event Center.
The Chamber Board of Directors recognized the Main Street Hero for 2013. Roberta “Bill” Thomman. She owns and operates Thommans Jewelry on Houston street in downtown Levelland. She has been a downtown merchant for over 50 years and continues to this day working 6 days a week helping her customers. Her and her late husband Bob were recognized as the Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 1999 by the Levelland Chamber of Commerce.
The Ag Excellence Award was presented to Doug Hoelscher for 2013. He is actively involved in many community activities and works currently as chairman of the agriculture committee of the Chamber of Commerce. He is the current manager of the Ag Texas Farm Credit office in Levelland.
The Citizen of the Year for 2013 was Sham Myatt. He is a long time resident of Levelland and is current partner in the accounting firm of Myatt, Blume and Fidaleo.
The Lifetime Achievement Award winner was long time Levelland resident Chris Roberts. He is also a long time Levelland resident and currently serves on many civic organizations. He is the current president of the Levelland Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors.
Hockley County Attorney Anna Hord was recognized as the Young Professional of the Year and the Business of the Year was the Levelland Hockley County News Press.
