The City of Levelland Tax Increment Financing Board held a meeting on Monday.
They heard from 2 developers who are looking at developing 2 separate pieces of land in Levelland asking the board to expand the TIF Zone #1 to include those areas.
The first developer Jerald Kelly, is looking at developing a piece of property on Sherman between Walnut and Oak which is currently a vacant piece of property and has never had any development on it. The property would have approximately 80 low to moderate income single family homes one it. It was noted by the developer that there would be tight deed restrictions on the property.
The second developer Raymon Jackson is looking at a piece of property on 13th street between Ave. L and M–he also is looking to have low to moderate income single family homes on the property.
The development work for both of these projects will be devided by 3 and will be lumped in with development work already underway for another project in TIF Zone #1 for property near the golf course.
Levelland City Council is expected to take action on this expansion tonight.
The TIF board unanimously approved both expansions.
