High school seniors seeking scholarships at South Plains College for the 2013-2014 academic year need to submit their application materials by March 1.
Application information is available online at SPC’s website, http://www.southplainscollege.edu, as well as from the SPC Scholarship Office, according to Stephen John, vice president for institutional advancement.
“We are planning to award more than $600,000 in scholarships next fall and we want future SPC students to know that these funds are available to help support their enrollment,” John said.
“We have made information available to high school counselors in our service area, as well. So students also can contact their counselor for applications and assistance,” he added.
This year, more than 650 SPC students are receiving scholarships from the college, which are made possible through the South Plains College Foundation.
“The primary reason students don’t receive scholarships is not because they are not qualified to receive them. It’s because they don’t take the time to apply for them,” John said.
