Governmental Meetings Scheduled this Week

KLVT News is following several meetings this week.

1)  Hockley County Commissioners’ Court met this morning in a regular meeting.  The one item of note to come out of the meeting, Commissioner’s decided NOT to enact a burn ban for Hockley County at this time.  It was noted that the County Judge has the right to enact the burn ban at any time and then Commissioner’s would have to take action to make it a permenent ban.

2)  Levelland City Council will meet tonight at 7pm in a regular meeting in the Levelland City Hall, Council Chambers.  They will Consider and take action on a recommendation from the Levelland Community Development Corporation regarding Phase I development of the Levelland Oxy Sports Complex.

3)  Levelland Main Street Advisory Board has scheduled their regular meeting for November on Thursday at 7:30am in the Levelland city Hall, Conference Room A.  Mostly routine items on the agenda.

4)  Sundown Economic Development Corporation has scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, November 7 at 5:30pm in the Council Chambers of Sundown City Hall at 809 S. Slaughter Ave.  They will elect officers and consider a request for funding for the purchase of a restaurant.  They also will consider the sale and terms of the sale of another Sundown Business.
