HPRN News follows Wildfires in the State

HPRN news continues to follow the wildfires across the State of Texas.  News Director, Jody Rose sit in on a web press conference with Texas Governor Rick Perry this morning.  Perry urges all residents in the state to heed the warnings and absolutely NO outdoor burning, further stating that at this time, he asks residents of the state to not participate in any outdoor activity which could conceivably, event on a remote chance, start a fire.  It was noted that the Steiner Ranch fire outside of Austin is now 40% contained and residents are being allowed back in their homes in the STEINER RANCH area only, this afternoon.

An update on the Bastrop County Fire which began on Sunday indicates no containment as of this morning according to the Tx Forest Service Incident Management Report.  An additional 300 residents in the sub-divisions outside of Bastrop were evacuated last night.  Over 600 homes have been heavily destroyed according to reports.  According to officials with the Bastrop County Emergency Management office said this morning they have not evacuated the City of Bastrop but remind residents in all areas to be ready to evacuate with little notice and to please cooperate with fire officials as they have your safety in mind and will only evacuate an area if a persons safety is in jeopordy.
